The Necessity of Betrayal

Smiles from the front, eyes at a slant.
Hugs loosely snug with whispers of death.
Blades slash my spine while hammers crush my shoulder blades.

Burning in my ears….maybe its the beginning of a cold.
Heart palpitations throughout the night, demons sent to my room to fight.
Secrets shared, quickly carried to the enemy unaware.

Laughs of joy….only in my heart; they laughed at me not with me.

Jesus knew my pain and knows my pain.
Judas kiss of death planted daily upon my cheeks.
One, two, three of them, maybe more…close enough to start a war against me and that they did.

“For He taught His disciples and said to them, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day” (Mark 9:31)

The third day I too shall arise; not the me who I now know, but the new me. The redeemed me.
The me hidden in Him. Victory!
